Cycle Steps
A very quiet 50mile route through the beautiful villages north of Chelmsford. Road surfaces are generally excellent.

Makes a great training ride for a long distance cycle, not too many taxing hills, but a few here and there to keep you on your toes.

The best part is that once you get onto Mashbury road, you rarely meet traffic except around Great Notley and a very short trip on the A130 (which can be missed out if you prefer)

Takes me around 3hrs30mins on a road bike, plus two 10 minute stops, usually one in Pleshey and one in Terling.

Route is as follows:
Chelmsford - Chignal St. James - Mashbury - Good Easter - High Easter - Pleshey - Howe Street - Littley Green - Hartford End - Leez Priory - Willows Green - Black Notley - Fairstead - Terling - Gamble's Green - Little Waltham - Howe Street - Mashbury - Chignal St. James - Chelmsford
Landmarks/Pubs for lunch/Sites to see?
Two very deep fords towards the end of the route. They have bridges, just make sure you're looking out for the signs when they are coming up, they each a good 3ft deep when its been raining!
