Cycle Steps
From Hanging Heaton take the main road down into Dewsbury town centre. Leave the town centre and take the quieter Mill Street towards Thornhill Lees and then on to Thornhill, taking in a short sharp climb onto The Common.

Gradually climb up to Rectory Park and continue along Hostingley Land towrads Horbury Bridge. Take the road up through Netherton, incorporating a c.2 KM climb to Midgley. Head left towrads Bretton and branch off the main road, over the M1 motorway to Woolley Edge.

Follow the signs for Royston (Barnsley), past the old pit, until the road meets the main Wakefield/Barnsley road. Head towards Wakefield, on an undulating road, passing Newmillerdam.

A nice cafe there awaits. Head on to Wah=kefield and take the Batley signs through Alverthorpe, incorporating several minor climbs, to meet the main Leeds Road. Back down towards Dewsbury and your start point.

Twice cross the M1 motorway. Take in the picturesque Newmillerdam.
