Cycle Steps
Sustrans National Cycle Network Route 77 between Perth and Pitlochry. Couple things that are easy to miss, in Dunkeld, the turning you want goes through the Hilton hotel gardens. This is one of the loveliest sections on the route, and goes semi offroad.

When you go under the A9 after Dunkeld, you then cycle up to the A9, and cross the Tay on an A9 bridge.

Watch out for the hill before Pitlochry. It's quite steep, though amazing fun coming back down the other side.
Landmarks/Pubs for lunch/Sites to see?
Dunkeld has lots of pubs and hotels at which to eat. Pitlochry also has these. You can then take the train home, perhaps.

The section from Dunkeld to the A9 through Dunkeld Hilton is pretty dangerous for anyone using a road bike. It starts off as Tarmac, then gravel and cobble squares. Then it turns in to hard woodland track but then it's just mud and overgrown nettles no more that 1ft wide.
