Midlothian Cycle Routes

Scotland Cycle Routes > Midlothian
Commonly called Midlothian or Edinburghshire this region was once part of the county of Edinburgh until 1921. The majority of towns and villages were mining and paper mills. In Hillena they have an artificial ski slope and two golf courses. Lasswade was a popular holiday spot in the 1950's but is now filled with retired folk. Pathhead has a habitual problem of drunk bums stealing traffic cones. The Battle of Roslin took place near Wallace's Cave which is now a historical landmark. There are five castles, one fort, one palace and a handful of parks.
