If you want to split it over two days Doddington (±52 miles in) might be a good place. That's where we're breaking for lunch.

Excellent route, thanks for posting. Not many routes from central London manage to cover such distance with so little traffic, particularly at the start. We did it today in 8hrs 5mins start to finish. Didn't manage a proper lunch tho, as we were fighting to beat the winter night.
Highly recommended, but with the caveat it is a lot for one day.

I have done this route twice with Jon who has commented above - fyi - we were on hybrids and not road bikes. I'd recommend not doing it in January! It really is a fantastic route though once you get clear of London.

There were some lovely pubs on the way but we didn't have time to stop off unfortunately. There are a few hills that are testing but it was the weather that got the better of us on both occasions - very cold and windy.

Set off early in the summer so that you have time for breaks and it really will be a memorable experience. Agree with Jon - excellent route!

Hello. We are taking a cycling trip from Folkestone to London in April as a training for our journey to Slovenia in August. Is your route following busy roads or are they rather "calm"?

Very scenic route with fantastic views from the North Downs. Met relatively little traffic on the way, there were a few hills none of which were unmanageable and some lovely rolling downs from which to enjoy the spectacular Kent countryside.

Plenty of places to stop - I'd recommend the 'Tickled Trout' in Wye, a lovely pub with a beer garden on the river.

P.s. Thanks for the route recommendation! Jon & Scott do you fancy a beer sometime to reminisce?

I rated this as tricky as some of the hills were quite tough going for me at least, but it''s a beautiful stretch of countryside with some nice pubs along the way. Pilgrim''s Way is a pleasure to cycle, great views and hardly any traffic. Thank you for posting.

Folkestone was also better than expected for a night out!!
