1. Around a third off road, basic MTB recomended. Parking at Kilngreen. Langholm, head south,take fork on left (hallpath) follow uphill vere to left, Through the gate, follow offroad path to broomholmshiels,turn right downhill to B6318.LT to Claygate,LT down/uphill and at teh top take the farmtrack on left SP Abeberigg. LH fork Bruntshielbog, vere right up forest track for about 1/2 mile, the track then turns and rapidly decends (brilliant freewheel). The track then come to an abrupt halt. You can decend hill (no track) by keeping left for about 20 yds, then straight down hill to river. RT for 500 yds to pick up road to Cronksbank. Follow road to Perterburn farm, straight through and take track down hill to Ford. Follow track to TarrasRigg, Rejoin road for 500 yds and LT at Tarras Lodge. Follow road for about 2 miles and take forrest track on left. Steep Climb up Auldshields Hill, fantastic decent to Alberigg. LT at A7 (not usually busy but can be fast traffic) for 1.5 miles, RT (SP Eskdalemuir....note plaque on right as your turn) climb hill and look out for feint track on left (old wooden gate). Decend to farm and take track on immediate left back up hill. Follow all the way to the kilngreen.
