Cycle Steps
From Townhead Street in Kirkintilloch, if facing Kirkintilloch library, turn right on to the Canal Path.
Stay on the Canal Path all the way to Twechar.
There is a road that runs parallel to the canal path, if you are on a road bike, you may be best using that. Either way you will arrive in the sameplace.
Once in Twechar carry on along the path or road for another 1/4 of a mile until you meet another road(Howe Road) going off to your left. Come of the path and go on to this road.
Heading left and left again. Follow the road up and round to the right.
This stretch of road can be quite busy but there are pavements either side. Follow the road all the way heading straight over all the roundabouts until you come to another roundabout allowing you to go only left or right.
Turn right here on to Parkfoot Street, leading on to Stirling road.
Shortly along this road,immediately after crossing over a bridge take the road on your left, it shoulld be signposted Tak-Ma-Doon road.
This road is very steep and does require a little bit of fitness. Although you could always push your bike up.
Follow this road to the top and the Tak-Ma-Doon carpark is on your right hand side.
