Once you've left Poole get off the busy roads and onto the country lanes of Lytchett Matravers with a few rolling hills. Then it's onto the long head down stretch of the A31 to Bere Regis with some bumpy roads.
The road to Wareham is a lovely long flat stretch where some good top speeds are achievable.
There are two testing hill climbs on the route which are at Creech and at Kingston the first is a 20% and the second is a 16% but both are short and sweet.
Down through Swanage with plenty of places to stop for refreshment if needed. The route back can be a hard slog and usually into wind until you get to Wareham then the uphills never seem that bad. |
