This is a mostly off road route on a mixture of concrete sea wall, ash tracks and tarmac paths, there are a couple of short road sections. A mixture of industry, industrial wasteland and countryside.

There is a Car Park at the start. The route passes via the Rainham RSPB Bird Reserve and the Mardyke Way.
The Mardyke valley can be flooded during times of heavy rainfall.

Have cycled most of this route in the past from Chafford Hundred through Davey Down to Ship Lane and on to the Purfleet to Rainham loop part. Didn't know you could cycle along the river between Grays & Purfleet so will definitely add that part follow your route this week sometime. Thanx
