Gloucestershire, located in South West England, houses the city of Gloucester, and the towns of Cheltenham, Cirencester, Stroud and Tewkesbury. The county has a population of around 839 000 and the area includes the Forest of Dean, part of the valley of the River Severn and part of the Cotswolds Hills. Gloucestershire county is thought to have been founded in the Anglo-Saxon era of the middle ages in the 10th Century. There are plenty of sites to see in the county such as the cathedral of Gloucester, the abbey of Tewkesbury or one of the many small towns or villages.
