Starting in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire this route is mainly off-road on good forestry commission roads with some bridleways and small road sections. The highlight of the route is passing through the beautiful surroundings of Newstead Abbey.
I used to cycle home this way every day; it was truly wonderful to escape to the countryside after being stuck in the office all day and avoid the national speed limit roads.
I would highly recommend it to anyone doing a regular Eastwood-Mansfield commute. However parts of the route are not easy to follow and it will take some time and backtracking to learn. |
