Cycle Steps
Fairly fast commuting route to the city. Mainly flat except for hill up Holland Park, but hardly noticeable. Biggest issue is all the traffic lights en route.
Start off along Elers Road, along the side of Lammas Park. At the T junction go right onto Culmington Road and then immediately left onto Lammas Park Gardens. Follow this round to the left, then right into Disraeli Road and on to the B455 T junction.
At the junction turn left onto the B455, then take the second right, off the B455 and onto Grange Road. Follow this to the edge of Ealing Common, turn left and go to the A4020 T junction.
At the junction turn right onto Uxbridge Road, A4020, and follow this through the A406 and A4000 junctions and on past Shepherd's Bush Common to the A3220 roundabout.
At the roundabout go straight across onto Holland Park Avenue, A40, and follow this to the Lancaster Gate turn off by Hyde Park.
Turn left, off the A40 and onto the A4209, and follow this across the A5 crossroads. After the crossroads, take the first right onto Homer Row and follow this to the T junction.
Turn left onto Crawford Street and follow the road till it becomes Paddington Street, B524, after the Baker Street crossroads. Go across the Public Gardens and take the first right onto Ashland Place. Follow this as it goes sharp left and on till the B524 T junction.
Go left onto the B524, then immediately right onto Weymouth Street. Follow this across the A4201 crossroads and on till the T junction. Turn right onto Great Portland Street and the first left onto Clipstone Street. Follow this to the T junction at the British Telecom Tower.
Turn left onto Cleveland Street and swing right onto Maple Street. Follow this to the A400 T junction at University College. Turn right onto the A400 and then first left onto Torrington Place. Follow this road across the A4200 crossroads, where it becomes Tavistock Place. Continue on across the B504 crossroads and on till the A5200 crossroads.
At the crossroads, turn left onto Gray's Inn Road, A5200, and then first left, off the A5200 onto Frederick Street. At the second on the right, before the A201 junction, turn onto Cubitt Street. Follow this round to the left to the A201 T junction.
Turn right onto King's Cross Road, A201, and follow this across the B502 crossroads. Take the first left onto Attneave Street and go to the T junction. Turn right onto Yardley Street and on till the A401 T junction.
Turn left onto Rosebery Avenue, A401, and go to the first crossroads. Turn right onto Tysoe Street, B502, and follow this across the B501 and A1 crossroads and on till the B144 T junction. Turn left onto Bath Street, B144 and go to the A501 T junction.
At the junction turn right onto City Street, A501, and follow this to the A5201 roundabout. Take the first left onto Old Street, A5201, and follow this till the A10 crossroads.
Turn right onto Shoreditch High Street, A10, and follow this to the A1202 turn off just after Shoreditch High Street station. Turn left onto Commercial Street, A1202, and follow this to the A11 T junction.
Turn left onto Whitechapel,High Street, A11, and follwo this past the East London Mosque, across the B108 and A107 crossroads, into Mile End Road and on till Stepney Green Station.
