Cork is second largest in a few ways. Its the 2ndlargest city in the Republic of Ireland, it has the 2nd largest natural harbour and the local folk called Corkonians consider it the real capital of Ireland. Cork county consider this place, founded in the 6th century to be "the rebel county". Once a popular and most important trade route with the scandinavian networks, it was fully walled around the city. Now there are still gates and walls that remain. The weather is mostly mild but with lots of rain. River Lee is found through the center of town and a highlight to visit would be the Church Tower of Shandon.
