| Ascent starts from Buxton,up Axe Edge, prolonged climbing but not specially steep. Great views continue as you sweep past the Winking Man pub onto the Morridge Road towards Onecote. There turn homewards north through Warslow, Hulme End, Longnor, Crowdecote and Earl Sterndale, all of which have cracking pubs. Back past the Bookshop at Brierlow Bar: but don't stop there, or you get weighed down with the books you HAVE to buy! Then mind the traffic on the A515 back into Buxton |
