Cycle Steps
This is a road route, mainly on B and country roads, that has climbs and descents.
Starting in Bedworth you head across the A444 and out on Smorral Lane towards Corley Ash. Here you turn right onto the Coventry Road, B4098,heading towards Fillongley.
At the crossroads in Fillongley, turn left onto the Meriden Road, B4102, heading towards Meriden. This will give you a good long climb and then a run down to Meriden. It also goes under the M6, through Birchley Hays Wood and over the A45 on the way to Meriden.
In Meriden, go right at the roundabout, staying on the B4102. At the next roundabout go right, leaving the B4102 and going onto Maxstoke Lane. This road will take you back over the A45, through Butler's End, past the golf club and over the M6 again. You then contiue on through Maxstoke, past another golf club and on to Shustoke Reservoir. This is a good place to have a break.
From Shustoke you climb, on the B4114, up to Furnance End, where you turn right, staying on the B4114, and go through Over Whitacre. Follow the B4114 as it forks left taking you towards Church End, and past Hoar Park Farm. This is another option for a nice stop for tea and cake. At Church End turn right onto the B4112 and follow this through Ansley, across the railway lines and across the roundabout. After the roundabout turn right, off the B4112, onto Astley Lane, heading for Astley. Go through Astley and take the final leg back to Bedworth. Done!

My first ever planned cycle and I really enjoyed it as I did the route. I will do this one more than once and may do it in the reverse direction too! Many thanks for taking the trouble to map these routes out
