Landmarks/Pubs for lunch/Sites to see?
The tarka trail follows the route of the old railway route between Barnstaple and Bideford which I believe closed down in 1987. Therefore there are no shops etc to speak of on the way.

However there are certain openings, for example at Fremington where a picnic area is designated. There are also several bike hire shops which only usually open in the summer as this is tourist season.

Had a really great day out on the tarka trail! Flat terrain which allowed us to enjoy the scenic route. Stops for toilets and also a beach cafe and picnic locations along the way.
