This route is mostly flat, but there are some long gentle uphill sections.
After leaving the station, there is a short uphill stretch to the top of Parbold Hill. This is followed by a steep downhill section, then it is mostly flat on quiet back roads to the A59 at Rufford. You have to endure a short stretch on main roads to Croston. You then return to quiet back roads for the run back to Appley Bridge. |

Parbold Hill Summit has great views to Blackpool and the North West coast. Croston is a small pretty village with places to eat. Good place to stop.
