This is a nice gentle road ride, on a mix of road types, with a few steep inclines. Also, as the bulk of the route is in and around the outskirts of the city of Gloucester, there is plenty of opportunity to add in your own variations to make the route dufferent, shorter, etc.
Landmarks/Pubs for lunch/Sites to see?
Gloucester Docks, The Quays shopping centre.

Really enjoyed this... Being around the outskirts of Gloucester meant I could just keep cycling until I'd decided I'd gone far enough.
Also took a slightly different way back through Abbeymead/Abbeydale, but that's because of my sense of direction.

Thanks!

This is pretty much the regular 20 mile route I'd run in my marathon training. There are NO serious hills, just a few bridge approaches and a couple of longer drags (eg Cole Ave and Ermine St). In fact you have to stretch it a bit to get to 20!
If you go up to Hempstead you can avoid the traffic of Bristol Rd or the bypass, but the trade is a little gain of elevation...
It's a nice foray into the near countryside.
