Hey. I'm planning on doing a charity ride either all around Wales (coast and border) or just North to South coast next summer (2012). Can anyone recommend a route? Especially for going all around Wales? Or if anyone fancies joining me, please shout out!

have a look on the 'welsh coast' topic, there are a few people doing the coast next year including me and I'm also looking for routes...

Planning on doing north to south around the coast 1st-10th June 2010. estimating 80 miles a day on a mountain bike, trying to stick to bike paths where possible and as close to the coast as possible. North to South coast is a tough ride and involves lots of busy roads! Coast is further but MUCH more scenic!

We completed a charity ride we called circle the sea in 2010 from Hollyhead to Fishgard then Rosslare to Dublin and ferry back to Hollyhead which worked well. I am also trying to arrange a circular route in Wales this year so if you come up with something good please let me know

Cant really offer much help at the moment, but I'm looking into doing a similar thing this coming summer with a more experienced friend. Edging towards the whole perimeter of Wales, maybe Anglesey included.
Also I'm new to cycling and looking to get a new bike, The local shop has recommended a cyclocross bike over a road or hybrid bike, Any thoughts on this ?
