If so, I don't think you'll get any takers unless you do one of the bigger organised charity rides where you have to guarantee raising family / friends sponsorship of a certain amount usually £1500 or so. When I did my End2End in April this year, I contacted the charity that I wanted to ride for, (Arthritis Research), they gave me permission to use their name and logo and sent a pack including charity t-shirt, sponsor forms and posters to advertise the ride. I put one up in my local pub, one in my workplace and opened a "justgiving" page which I promoted via facebook, blogs and twitter. The end result was quite rewarding. As I wanted to do the ride anyway, I paid for my stop overs all the way, so tried to keep my cost down by staying in Youth Hostels. They were much better than pubs and b&bs to be honest as long as you don't mind mixing in and shared same sex dormitories. I hope this is of some help and good luck with your ride. |

The best way is to local press to cover your event ,contact them and tell them what charity your doing it for. Next write to as many local firms in your area ,send a press release type of letter. Contact the organisation you are doing it for they sometimes have fund rasing officers and press agents so as you get maximum publicity. Also set up a web page. Just some of the methods that can be used. |
