I've just completed The Great Glen Way (note: The Great Glen Way NOT The Great Glen Cycle Route)from Inverness to Fort William on MTB and it was awesome - no really it was breathtaking (both in Scenery and quite literally in parts). First 45 miles to Fort Augustus is pretty hectic with loads of work up hills, (some radical descents though like Glentress Reds) then next 34 miles to Fort William pretty easy going with about 20 miles or so next to canal paths - so beware all who attempt this goingr from West to East - as this IS the easy section. You gotta watch carefully for the signs though or you'll end up adding on some extra miles (I know I did). Hope this gives some inspiration to someone - AND the train journey from Fort William back to Glasgow is inspiring too! Jezza |

Doing it in a day is possible BUT would be a big ask unless you are seriously fit and up to doing 96 miles in a day with a hell of a lot of hillage. Thanks Martin |
