There appear to be lots of options for routing into Nice, but we've heard some nightmarish stories of the traffic around Nice. I'm hoping someone out there can help us plan a route into the city that isn't too death-defying. Thanks |

From the north should not really be a problem, as most traffic comes either east or west. coming down the D515 is generally flat and has a gradual decent over the last 20 or 30m into Nice. it runs along a gauge near the turini. if you come through Sospel, then its alot more mountainous, but alot prettier, and gives you the option to come through Monaco. drivers are always going full speed, so keep your eyes and ears alert, as city roads are a bit rough with pot holes etc. with circa 500,000 people in such a small area, there seems to be alot more people than is reality, although in July/August there are heaps of tourists which add to the population. check out the grand, moyenne and base cournice just out of Nice, as they provide superb views of the region, especially at Eze. good luck. |
