Difficult one. Take the Linburn/Craigend road and go through the A726 roundabout on to Freeland and Inchinnan. Join the A8 (think there's a pavement with no pedestrians!) for mile's cycle to the bridge over the Black Cart where you take airport road under M8 into Paisley. On a good day, you could go via Erskine Bridge and Clyde cycleway, crossing on Renfrew Ferry. But it's a long haul and ideal for tourists rather than commuters. There seems to be no paths because of the motorway and airport runways. Sorry.

Just follow the road to St JAMES INTERCHANGE [A726 I THINK] where the pavement ends there is a track that follows the airport perimeter fence that will take you into the airport grounds and from there onto Inchinnan Rd then Love St into Paisley town centre. I use this route from Bishopton takes about 40 mins

Try going from Erskine and cycle through Inchinnan and onto the swing bridge at Renfrew, then take the road to the airport which takes you straight up past the football ground at Love St, keep going and you're in the middle of Paisley and virtually the entire route can be done on pavement (if you wish), Iain.

My Profile
A726 out of Erskine towards Paisley
Before leaving Erskine, go left along Parkway
Go through bus gate a back of Inchinnnan into Old Greenock Road
Follow Old Greenock Road/Greenock Rd until you reach swing bridge at back of Renfrew.
At traffic lights, turn right down Abbotsinch Rd (back of airport).
Follow this road - it becomes Inchinnan Rd then Love St. At end of this raod, you're at bottom of one way system in Paisley.

You'll be fine commuting ;)

Try doing the route in the evenings/weekend to get you used to it - it'll also give you an idea of how lng it will take you.

Make sure you've got decent lights (2 min at rear) for the winter.

HTH.
