Pannier Security

Bike:

Soon to be taking up a tour along NCN 7, what concerns me is keeping my panniers secure if I have to leave the bike for any time (entering shop to stock up supplies, etc).
Has anyone taken measures to secure their panniers? Has anyone tried the Pac-Safe stainless steel mesh? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

My Profile 		My panniers are cable tied to my bike with 4 cable ties per pannier. I had to remove the panniers last week to give my bike its annual deep clean and it was a real pain to remove them, with each side taking about 10 minutes to get off. Thats all the security I use. I don't however secure the entries to the panniers, instead I use large plastic bags inside the panniers which I take with my when I want to wander around shops etc
