| I live in WImbledon and cycle in the area regularly. You can get from Wimbledon to Kew almost entirely off-road. What route you take depends whether you want to go in a straight line or not. From Wimbledon Village you should get on to the Common. You can either go straight across, starting on Camp Road and following the tracks after that - it's a bit hilly and the track is rough in places - or else you can take tracks that follow the perimiter of the Common running parallel to Parkside and then the A3. Either way you should come off Wimbledon Common by the Robin Hood roundabout (junction of A3 and Kingsotn Hill). Here you need to walk your bike over the bridge over the A3 and then ride into Richmond Park opposite. Which way you go round Richmond Park depends how many hills you want, Going anti-clockwise (past Roehampton Gate) is much flatter than going clockwise. If you've got the time, I'd recommend leaving the park at the Ham gate and then following the marked cycle route down to the Thames (this is on roads, but quiet ones, and is flat all the way). Once there you can take the riverside path all the way to Kew Gardens. If you need to go more direct, you can leave Richmond Park at the Richmond gate, but this means you then have to cycle down into Richmond and either pick up the riverside path there, or go on to kew on the main road.
Hope this helps - whichever way you go you're going to get hills, but maybe this will help you find the route with the least!
