Totally new to the world of cycling, just got myself a bike and about to start training for a charity ride to Paris. After looking into it and seeing how much companies take as a fee to arrange it all for you I have decided to organise it myself(more money for charity). The plan is for a team of 6 of us(have 3 so far) to ride from a village in Wiltshire to Paris.

Does anyone have any pointers, advice, tips anything that may help me?

Thanks in Advance.

Having organised an end to end first thing plan it then talk to people doing it about plan get agreements on daily distance and things,
Try to get support people and sponsors.
Best of luck if you need more advice post here.
But plan it down to every last detail.
I organised mine and rode it you may find as problems come up as your riding it you are not able to sort as quickly as needed sometimes.

Hello!

I am doing the same from a village 6 miles east of henley on thames - 35 coming so far!

Have got my head most of it but doing doing into till June 12!

So far - planning to get the ferry from Newhaven to Dieppe and have found a great route online to Paris (Look for Donald Hirsh cyle in Google).

Just need to work out a decent route to Brighton - any ideas anyone?

Thanks Guys, would you have a rough idea of how much we need to cover the costs of getting 6 riders & 1 support mini bus to Paris and back. We will need 1 night in the UK, 1 half way to Paris and a night in Paris.

Thanks

Re cost well I would suggest you look for deals on Ferry but that depends on you route through France.
Hotels well I dont know what to suggest but there are lots of line hotels booking site again depends on your route .
Your fuel will be expensive also.
But you will need a couple of grand at least to cover everything.
This may seem a lot but at least you know you will be able to cover things that crop up

Parmoor, I have a good idea about how you can get from near Henley to Brighton with over two thirds of it along traffic free paths. Also some suggestions for places for large groups to stay in France recently received from another large group. Email me at the address given on my website if you are interested.
