hi, i cant give you any specific details but would imagine that you need to go to birtley, join the coast to coast cycle path there, and come off at fatfield. you would then be on a b road to cycle to concord. sorry its a bit vague but it should be a pleasant journey ( well a spleasant as a journey can be when youre off to work ) maybe syou should try it on your days off to find the best route

Hmm

Pick up NCN 7 and cycle to Fatfield. You come to a road and on your left there is a school (St Robert Of Newminster). Come on NCN 7 there and turn left, passing the school on your left.

You come to a roundabout, you need to go straight on (second exit) and pass Biddick School on your right. Continue up this road and you eventually come to the Galleries (North Side, I believe). Join the r'bout and take the second exit. Next junction is with A1231, Washington Highway, take the second exit, towards Albany. Just before you go into the Albany Village Centre take a right (the bus route into Concord).

Keep going straight on to the end of the road till you can't go any futher. Its a mini-r'bout, take the 2nd exit (right) and then you will be in the Concord Centre, next to the bus station.

Hope this helps, if you need anymore explaining, drop me an email

I do this daily donwell to birtley and I recon this is the quickes route,
through blackfell centre alonge the top of oxclose, through the bus link at the cheery tree then right and through the bus link at the chevies, here you take a right to just before the post house take a left on a cycle path under the subway and follow the path around the goldstar factory then I follow vigo lane to barleymow you can do the same or go passed the washington hospital to roundabout at chester but that way is a bit busy I'd follow vigo to barley mow then left on the a167 to chester which has a cycle lane, takes me 15 mins from donwell to boc @ barley mow birtley 20 return

Go down spout lane all the way through the village, turn left at Glebe Church towards the Vic Pub continue to St Roberts(there is a path with subways on the Right hand side of the road as you pass Biddick School) And your on the Sunderland to Consett Cycle Path. Go to the Library they have free map showing the cycle routes and safer alternative road routes
