Hi,

I've just bought myself a road bike and I mainly want to use it for exercise.

I live in burley (LS4 - just northwest of the centre of Leeds) and I'm looking for a route nearby that is either
i) on quiet roads
ii) has good cycle lanes

so that I don't not have to worry too much about traffic etc and concentrate on my cardio.

So if anyone can advise me if there is any routes near leeds that would be good for me it would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Sam

Hi There

If you are wanting to practice cardio and do spin ups, power starts etc then from Burley I would go down to there road that runs past fitness first of Kirstall road towards the canal.

There is a road there that runs parallel with the canal it is not very long but is almost traffic free and so is ideal for doing any short runs where you need to concentrate on effort and not on avoiding traffic.

Too short to me useful for time trials but great for everything else

Cath
