Really need some help guys

Joined: 02 Jul 2009 Posts: 1 Bike: | hi, i work for john lewis in solihull, west mids. my department has decided to do a (mega) cycle for charity from our department store to a newly built store in cardiff, and then back again. the ride will take place over 4 days (2days there, 2days back) and must start on 22nd september to coincide with the cardiff store being officially opened. and must include a stop in the ross on wye (twice, once there n once back) we're having a bit of trouble finding a route. can any suggest a website or software that will help us calculate this journey, or even anyone with a previous journey in that general direction. any help would be really appreciated as we need a route asap cheers |

Joined: 16 Jan 2009 Posts: 498 Bike: My Profile | i have no knowledge of the area, but 2 minutes on a route planner tells you this.... your route is about 110 miles each way, avoiding motorways if you take the A roads, its 55 miles each day. At a leisurely 10mph, your done for a late boozy lunch each day. if you were to spin it out to avoid the A roads, expect to add between 10%-20% to distance. Still only 60 miles a day 3 hours in the morning long lunch three hours in the afternoon. pup by 6.00pm! if you have to push a nurse in a hospital bed on wheels for charity, it will take longer have a big map on hand, and then plan the route through the routeplanner on here. do a little research to avoid hills, if that is a problem. |
