Hi Guys,

Bit of a lazy question as I'm sure I could just get on my bike and find out but....

I'm planning on commuting from South London to Victoria and having done a bit of research into it, its telling me to head over the lambeth road bridge rather than victoria bridge, not sure why but thats what it says (any ideas?).

Anywho.... It says I need to go over the Elephant and Castle Roundabout, is it traffic lighted and/or safe? Don't really want to run the risk of having to go over it if its crazy busy, especially as I'm still getting used to my SPD pedals. Alternatively, if anyone could provide me a safer way, that would be most excellent

Many Thanks,
BigRon

I have been through the Elephant and Castle area loads of times and yes it is perfectly safe to cycle through. It has traffic lights on the roundabout. The area is also currently undergoing massive redevelopment including improvements to the road layout so it should be even safer in a year or two.

Hi guys
I found a TFL Journey Planner for cycling in London. (http://cyclejourneyplanner.tfl.gov.uk/cycle/XSLT_TRIP_REQUEST2)
I only get London a few times a year and have been thinking along the lines of ditching the tube ticket and cycling about.
Has anyone tried the TFL route planner?
Thanks.

Hi there. From which road are you approaching the roundabout? There is a loop of cycle friendly routes round Elephant that bypass the roundabout
