Cycle all counties in England

Hi all,

I have just got back for Christmas and been told about a guy that was in the paper a few weeks ago for riding all the counties in England in a few weeks by finding the shortest distance between them all.

I really want to try the same thing as i've not seen nearly enough of this country.
Does anyone know who he was or any more details on the topic.
