I would suggest you leave around 7am so get an early night, do 4 hours (50 miles) at a light pace of around 12 mph, take a full hour off the bike to take on board a pasta lunch and plenty of fresh fruit. Drink water,at least 3 to 4 litres, as much as you can get down, with occasional energy drinks interspersed, plenty of bananas as you ride and you'll rip the last 25 miles after lunch, in a little under two hours, taking it very easy. So six hours in total plus a full hour break. Or a straight 5.5 hours if you want to beat yourself up and eat totally mobile! Good luck, let us know how it goes. You will feel exhilarated if you complete this, perhaps with friends, if you haven't done this type of ride in recent years. |
