Joined: 03 Jul 2009 Posts: 37 Bike: My Profile | Hi My knee recently started hurting (after a session on a turbo trainer when the snow was here) - feels like just inside knee. Rest helps but as soon as I cycle it flares up again. I have been through a lot of physio and will be having op on hip so am loathed to have to start physio again for another ailment! Anyone got any advice? |

Joined: 18 Jan 2010 Posts: 10 Bike: My Profile | hi when i do cycling i have to put it in the easier gears, i have osgood slatters and it swels up when i do any sports, the only thing i can do is rest for a couple of months and then do some cycling. Cyling is the best form of sport without damaging your knees hope this helps |

Joined: 16 Jan 2009 Posts: 498 Bike: My Profile | apart from swimming, of course......... cycling CAN be very damaging to knees, so careful with the advice on that one. high cadence / low gearing is generally less stressful on the knees, though. (and remember, darts is a sport too!!!!) |

Joined: 10 Sep 2010 Posts: 2 Bike: | Hi Are your pedals/shows allowing your leg to line up as any pronation will cause pain after a few miles. Just like jogging you need to ensure you don't have a twist so you have equal pressure from the tendons on each side of your knee Dave |
