Over the months I've been out and about more and more and do maybe 3-4 rides a week ranging from a steady 15 miles to longer 30 milers and recently did my 1st 50+ mile ride (Chester Borken Soke Spotive). My problem being that my fore-arms and up to my elbows are really starting to get a bit painfull, especially when I pick things up and even when I bend my arms, I try not to grip my bars too tightly and try to relax as much as possible when I'm riding. Anyone got any advice, maybe doing some weights etc??? Many thanks for your help in anticipation. Sean |

If new then from shop then I presume the frame size would be right size for your height etc and also the shop should have made sure that your saddle height was adjusted correctly. If however you have purchased second hand then I would suggest that you take your bike along to a cycle shop and get advice regarding saddle height etc. Should the problem persist after adjustment then it might be advisable to see your GP. Leave the weights alone for now they may cause complications. In the meantime please enjoy the freedom of cycling. |

You arm tendons all go through this spot so any tightness will manifest itself in your arms/wrists. It took a while to accept this but following a couple of sessions of neck massage my arms are now okay Also, cycling is like jogging your body has to re-adjust to a new way of working and being put understress so a slow build up is the best approach. All the above assumes the bike does fit you though David |
