Hi,

I've got a group of Norwegians coming over in the summer wanting to do a 3 day ride, they've been over the last few years and have done C2C, Hadrians Wall, Coast & Castles and are now looking for something a bit different.

I can put them on either road, hybrid or mountain bikes, though I think they prefer to cover 50 mile + per day so will probably be flat bar road or 700mm hybrid bikes.

Any help appreciated

Ian

How about the ride from Seahouse to Tynemouth for one of the days that the Great North cycle event follows? maybe continuing on to Berick upon tweed?

My Profile
Using the hybrids start in Newcastle for/or Durham and eventually join the Brandon Line to Bishop Auckland. At West Auckland take the semi-off road route to Barnard Castle and then head up to Middleton-in-Teesdale for High Force, maybe staying at Langdon Beck.

Return on day 3 could be via the climb to Stanhope for the Waskerly Way viaduct route back via Consett, Annfield, or the Derwalk Walk route or even through Hamsterley Forest.

Have you looked at the "reivers route", done it last year more suited to hybrid than anything els.

I did a Head to Head ride last year, from St Bees to Flamborough in the East Riding of Yorkshire. 200 miles (almost exactly), we did it in 2.5 days. Apart from a few very short sections it was on minor roads. One short track section leaving Keswick. Main places were St Bees - Keswick - Penrith - Appleby - Garsdale Head - Redmire - Middleham - Thirsk - Easingwold - Sherrif Hutton - Duggleby - Flamborough. A much nicer finish than C2C. Would this be of interest?
