Hi can someone please tell me what Sustrans map I need to go from Reading to Bristol via the Kennet and Avon Canal towpath. I have been on the site but cannot make head nor tail of it! I want to go via Devizes.
Any other useful publications you know of would be great too.

thanks

Hi,

We did it about 6 weeks ago using the Avon and Kennet cycle paths all along the canals. Sometimes you go off the track and we used the National Cycle Network - sustrans say which number - could be 4.

If it helps we stayed at the only pub in Wootten Rivers - a little strange, but good food on site and a perfect pit stop.

You can do it in 2 days, but we did it in 3 staying in Bath aswell.

The NCN recommends coming off the canal at point before Devizes, but we stayed on. Harder, but shorter than going all the way round on the roads. You come off the canal at Bath as there's a break and then get back on near to Green Park Station, then easy peasy to Bristol on a practically tarmac path. Hybrid/MTB is best.
