hi People

I have in the last half hour flipped my jhub to run fixie?!

I will keep you updated on progress but any tips you can give me to setlle into the new riding style will be much appreciated.

After regularly following in the wake of a couple of fixie freaks (off road) i can tell you that they stand up on thier pedals a lot and make it look ridiculously easy. Hopefully (for the rest us) you will prove to be human and struggle for a while before reaching that heightened level of consciousness and riding ability, and wonder why you never did it before. this will naturally leave the rest of us in slobbering awe.

good luck.
Buster

That is good, use the extra ballast to push down on the pedals from a standing on your pedals position. I have seen that method in action from 20yards back chasing members of the fixie community.

Well my ride home last night was a disaster!! Going down hill doing about 20mph foot slipped off the pedal and I was left one footed hanging on for dear life bobbing up and down. I managed to get seated again took the other foot off and used front brake which I left connected just in case of emergencies. Thank god I did could have been horrible accident as was on busy road at the time. Changed back to freewheel for my comuting but when I pluck up the courage again I might do some social riding fixie to get the hang of it, comuting is def not the time to be learning a new riding style.
